Apple announced in June the transition to new processors, breaking the connection with Intel that lasts since 2006, list of processors per year and product (external link), This transition will take about 2 years, with the aim of all its products switch to using the new ARM processors, which use less energy and more computational power. With this, apple will reduce its costs, depending on its own processors, and even better there is hope that, with this it will be possible to lower prices for the consumer.

The new 13 inch MacBook Pro 2020 is now available for purchase, it will cost about $ 999, it will now keep the intel 8th generation i5 chip, with 8GB RAM and 256 SSD disk, at the lowest level. At the highest level it will be possible to configure with the intel 10th generation i7 and with 32GB Ram max and 4TB SSD.

The MacBook Pro 13 ”includes the famous Touch Bar and Touch ID

Another change in this new MacBook is its more ergonomic keyboard. This gives rise to the new butterfly keyboard controversy . In 2019 the MacBook Pro 16 ”also had this technology which brought several complaints in terms of ergonomics.

In April apple gave an update, it is also developing a MacBook 14 ”to replace the 13”, it will be expected to launch in autumn, the MacBook 14 ”and 16” with new redesign.

What to expect from the new Apple Silicon Mac processors, will perform better than Intel processors, expected to consume less power. Benchmark tests already show better performance than intel when using native iOS applications.

Another rumor will be that apple is developing a new 12-color ARM processor, if all this comes to fruition, apple will move the market because with the new processors and their improvements it will gain market, adding to a price reduction of its products, may steal market from other notebook brands.

Mini-LED display

Although for years apple has a reputation for its retina displays having an exceptional brightness and color gamut, rumours have recently appeared that it is preparing to launch new displays with Mini-LED technology that will greatly increase the quality, better contrast and brightness.

If you are expecting these to come with mini led technology, this will not be the case, it will only be available for 2021.

Wait ??

The problem with waiting for better technology is that there will always be a better one, which doesn’t make sense. Is it worth the wait ?? No one knows there may be compatibility issues or bugs with the new processors. So is it preferable to buy the existing technology or wait for the new ones to come out ?? Buy the old ones with some discount…. Bearing in mind that the new MacBooks will be cheaper at around 100 dollars.

In my opinion it makes more sense to wait and buy the new ones…
